Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease a 23×33 cm (9×13-inch) baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter and egg until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the baking dish.
In a separate bowl, toss the peach slices with the lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch until well coated.
Spread the peach filling over the crust in the baking dish. Crumble the remaining crumb mixture over the peaches.
Bake for 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbling.
Let cool completely in the dish before cutting into squares.
